Variable Speed Drives

Optimise your energy consumption savings by using variables speed drives (VSD) to control motors

45% of the world’s electricity is consumed by motors in building and industrial applications. By utilising VSDs to properly control motors, Hybrid can save energy, reduce your CO2 emissions, as well as extending the lifespan of equipment.

What is a Variable Speed Drive (VSD)?

The main function of a variable speed drive (VSD) is controlling the flow of energy from the mains to the process. The VSD is placed between the electrical supply and the motor. Once power from the electrical supply flows into the drive, it then regulates the power that is fed to the motor. This process allows the drive to adjust the frequency and the voltage that is fed into the motor based on your current processing demands, meaning you are enabled to run your AC motors at the speed and with the torque your business requires. With VSDs, save energy alongside reducing your maintenance costs, waste and even ambient noise emissions.
